Poured coffee into my travel mug, grabbed the salad I made last night out of the fridge, put it, a fork and a can of diet sierra mist in my lunch box and took off.

Too funny. Sounds just like me. I'm a very well trained doggy mom.

Made 3 loaves of bread today so I wont have to worry about it over the weekend, pickled a couple pints of peppers.
Trying to get caught up so I wont have to do much this weekend, we are finally going to plant the new garden plot we have been fussing over the past couple of weekends.

Made breakfast and lunch; brewed iced tea; fed the dog; watched DH make dinner.

I put a new fall table cloth on the kitchen table. I also put a little scarecrow guy and 2 pumpkin candles on the table. The girls did some kind on science project with an egg in a cup of vinegar. We made a chocolate chip cookie recipe but we used M & M's instead of chips.

Thought I'd start a new thread, as I've been pealing and prepping garlic for a couple hours now and was thinking of all we do beside cooking.
1 head got minced
1 head got chopped
1 head got sliced
1 head got pealed & kept whole
3 heads got roasted with alittle lite V.O.O., then cooled.

All placed in small jars and put on the door of my freezer.

Prepped 10 chicken thighs, 6 stalks of celery, 1 lb. bag of carrots, 2 onions, 1/2 bunch of fresh parsley to cook late tonight, or tomorrow a.m. for soup.
1/2 given to the neighbor, the rest to be divided for me & the pooch.
He gets his drained of broth, then rough blended with some brown rice cooked in some broth & added. Mine I'll either make tubatinni, or ditalinni to add.

Cleaned up, and all the while the W & D did 2 loads; the machines are in a built-in "closet" off the kitchen.

Now I'm looking for something else to do in the kitch.
(I feel alot more productive today than yesterday.)

What else are YOU doing in the kitch. today? Cleaning window coverings, floors, cleaning out cabinets/pantry, re-arranging things - no remodels posted here though-go to HOUSE forum for those, please.
That's one of the reasons I enjoy my time off work. Took a couple days off a month ago and made various broths out of what I'd been stockpiling in the freezer - shrimp, beef, chicken and vegetable. Picked and dried a bunch of different berries from our property. Found a great price on nectarines and apples so dried those too. And made a big batch of granola for DH to carry in truck at work.

Now it's just make a cup of tea for the road and grab fruit, cheese and leftovers to last me the day and head out at 6:30 a.m. Don't get back home til after 7 at night so no playing in the kitchen.

Made coffee, then did a load of dishes (I do them in the sink, by choice) and packed a lunch. Oh...also cleaned the inside of the fridge.

I opened the refrigerator about 20 times, and looked in there to see if there was a snack calling me.

That reminds me, time to get the fall place mats out! I love harvest colors - so rich and warm. Makes me want to make a pot of soup.

I've got some veggies to use up so maybe I'll do that today.
