I eat brats and drink beer all year round.

Hopefully I'll have a successful hunt this year and get some fresh venison and elk meat for some wild game brats!!!! for the New Year and Superbowl!!

No beer for me. I got lazy on my workouts and diet over the past couple of months and gained a whopping 10 pounds. It'll probably take me 6 months to get it back off.

So I'm laying off the heavy carbs until I get myself back on track.

We are going this weekend, I am glad I have a designated driver--under 21, no drinking for her--that German Brew can be quite strong. Looking forward to the grilled brats!

Yum! We had grilled blackened brats, enjoyed German music, loved watching older couples dancing, everyone brought their dog, I had a seasonal brew, with spices, it was SO good. I wish it was every weekend. But onlyt one weekend.

Brauts for sure this week but I will leave the beer to hubby. As much as I like my evening drinks, beer is one I rarely have (maybe 1 a year)

I want to know what a "blackened brat" is.

And more importantly, I want to know if Grannysroost is going to post the recipe for "carrot cake, heavy on the frosting"????

Happy 60th Mr. Gr!

A "blackened brat" is cooked on a grill until pitch black, and charred. Usually cooked by a Lions club member or VFW veteran, at the Fall Fest. It is crunchy on the outside, and hot as hell inside.

All proceeds go to support charity in town. That brat was so good, I could have had two or three.

LoL! I was thinking how weird "blackened" spices would taste on a brat and just couldn't imagine.
Thanks for clearing that up.

"blackened" is how I like my dogs - including the live one! (black weiner dog)
HAGD!
