Default Crock Pot Ideas?

Does anyone cook meals in a crock pot? I bought a crock pot awhile back because I love the concept but I only use it to make beef stew and chilli. Im sure there are lots of other things that can be made with it. I would think soups would be a great idea? Does anyone have any crock pot ideas or recipies?

I love slow cookers! There are a lot of great meals that you can make in your slow cooker. Many recipes are on allrecipes.com, so a search for "slow cooker". I seem to make the same meals over and over though; but here are a few of them: spaghetti sauce (brown your beef with onion ahead of time and then dump all ingredients in), roast (any type roast add a cream of mushroom soup (reduced sodium or healthy choice), cream of celery soup, cut up onion, potatos, carrots, and cover with a packet of dry lipton onion soup mix (sometimes I will add some red wine and/or beef broth), swiss chicken, chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, turkey breast, whole small chicken (rubbed down), shredded barbecue (chuck roast, seasonings, bottle of barbecue sauce, (cook all day, pour off fat, pull the beef and add another small bottle of barbecue sauce), and any kind of soup or stew imaginable is also doable; my favorites are taco/chicken tortilla and vegetable.

One other tip I would like to pass along is that I really enjoy using the Slow Cooker plastic liners that are out now. They save the day on clean up. Enjoy your new slow cooker and Happy Cooking!

They do a great job on pulled pork too. I just stick a pork butt in mine and let it cook all day with some spices. Then I take it out and shred it and add the sauce.

Tri-tip is great in the crock. Make BBQ beef sandwiches, tacos, burritos with the leftovers. You can't go wrong.

Hubby wanted me to mention one of the things that I make that he loves; especially during football games and it is a must make for the Super Bowl

Italian Beef in the slow cooker

any type of beef roast
1 jar of banana peppers (zesty or mild whichever you prefer)
1 small canister of grated parmesan cheese

brown beef in pan and put in slow cooker. Dump jar of peppers with juice and canister of parmesan in slow cooker. Cook until very tender. Use two forks to cross shred the beef in the slow cooker and allow it to mix and soak up the juices. Serve on Steak or Sausage Rolls with fresh provolone and mustard and/or horseradish sauce. So delicious!

I use my crockpots like I would my oven. I even make my dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas in mine to free up oven space.

A good ol' fashion roast (my husband loves it when I make it because I don't serve red meat). Get a roast that will fit in your cp. Drop an onion, s & p, worstershire sauce. Eventually drop in some veggies - potatoes, carrots...

If you like mexican food you can make authentic chili verde - a mexican stew. That requires a pork roast. You can get a recipe on foodtv.com. A little time consuming but oh-so-worth it.

My favorite things to cook in a crock pot are so simple.

Beef roast, add roast, season with pepper and Adolphs Meat Tenderizer, whole baby carrots and potatoes.

Corned beef, add corn beef, carrots, potatoes and cabbage.

Whole chicken, I take a whole chicken and put Shake and Bake for chicken in a lerger plastic bag and coat it and cook it, wonderful!
