If you have a Grocery Outlet store in your vicinity, you can still (as of today, although stocks are dwindling fast) pick up Peter Pan Crunchy in the 16.3 ounce size for $1.99.

We bought three trays and figure 36 jars will tide us over until the next peanut crop comes in -- we hope.

So far the increase in price hasn't hit our store for peanut butter, but all the Name Brands have decresed the oz. size from 18 to 16. The store brand - which is just as good - is still 18oz size for $1.99. I think I will pick up a couple months supply today before the store brand goes up too.

Local Costco is out of the all natural Kirkland PB as of yesterday. Only thing left was the Skippy and the price had increased by about 20% over the last time I bought it in August.

The biggest reason for this spike in prices is less acres being planted and destroyed crops because of weather. Peanuts area commodity folks.

The peanuts are the killer, largely due to the way they are processed in manufacturing.
One of the most harmful foods to mankind.
