Default Ever tried Artichokes

Our family always have artichokes around the holidays and I remember last year my sweet heart bless their country heart had never had them but played it off before my family realized it. They ate the part you are not suppose to eat.. My sweetie was embarassed but I thought it was cute.

Have you had artichokes or do you like them and do you dip them and if so what is your favorite dip with them?

I often have the hearts of the artichokes on Pizza. That's really common in our Italian restaurants and I alike it a lot.

Otherwise I haven't tried them in another form? Have you?

I love artichokes, especially the heart, but the leaves are good too, dipped in a bit of butter.
The last few I made tasted somewhat bitter, though.
Did I do something wrong? I usually steam them, then serve with butter.
I *adore* artichoke dip, too, the stuff you make with the hearts: the ingredients are something like hearts, mayo, parmesan, maybe a few jalapenos...mmm.

I love artichokes, especially the heart, with a bit of simple home-made vinaigrette. Yummm!

I have a recipe similar to yours, but it also calls for mozzerala cheese and you bake it. To die for !!

I grew up eating artichokes with what could probably be described as a thick flour gravy - brown flour in butter, then add milk to desired consistency. Ranch is great too - and less work!!

The majority of artichokes that are grown in the US come from California - and 2/3 of those come from the coastal California areas like Monterey.
