I love making cut-outs. Have been for about 10 years now.....those are my favorite and most challenging to make. I use royal meringue and love the look of them. I use a luster dust on them to give it a wintry effect. I like double chocolate crushed peppermint cookies! I usually make lemon or almond iced Italian balls...stained glass cookies, peanut butter blossoms with the hershey kisses,chocolate chip cookies with vanilla pudding...My mom was the best baker on the planet. We never had store bought cookies in our home growing up! I don't think I tasted an oreo until I was in my 20's lol.. She would make czechoslovakian squares, spritz cookies, peanut butter, jam thumbprints..

though I do very little cookie baking anymore I still love the simple recipe that won the cookie contest in Dallas about 10 years ago: using white chocolate (can't find it anymore, so have to use reg choc cookie dough) get at room temp. Mix with pecans, dried fruit, any kind you like, lemon flavoring, orange flavoring and drop on ungreased cookie sheet, just like any choc chip cookie. cook according to directions. Simple and yummy!!!
Your cut-out cookies look spectacular! I love the shiny effect!
I've never really done too much with cut-out cookies. I remember my mother making a double layered heart-shaped cut-out cookie for Valentine's Day.
I like to make the peanut butter blossoms! When I was a kid, I loved making the spritz cookies with the cookie press.

Spritz cookies were the best when I was a kid. My mom used to put green Jello in the Xmas trees for color! She called them Jello Jumbles!

There's a recipe on the back of the Heath toffee bits bag. I think it's brickle or brick cookies. I can't remember the name but they come out so good and everyone likes them.
