Eating Breakfast... Or not
I am one of those people that doesn't get hungry right when I wake up. My normal daily intake is coffee/water/tea during the morning, a pretty big lunch, and a pretty big supper.
I am not fat but I'm not super fit either.
After constant hounding by people telling me that I am killing myself by not eating a proper breakfast, I have decided to move my lunch time to more of a brunch at 10 AM. This way hopefully the benefits of a breakfast will be mine. Not too sure how to proceed after that brunch since I for sure won't be hungry at the normal noonish lunchtime. I guess skip lunch and eat a big supper?
Any ideas?
Some other guy told me that I should eat a food portion "the size of my fist" 5 times a day, but that just sounds annoying and unnecessary.

A light breakfast is a good idea. You tend to not overeat later on. Some protein in it because that staves off hunger, too. I usually have cereal w/ flaxseed meal and plain yogurt w/ some fruit in it.

have a few nuts and some fruit at 10. Then move on to lunch when you are hungry.

If I start the day with a 6-egg omelet, I'm good for the rest of the day, sometimes for the next 24 hours.

Conventional wisdom now says that you should not eat your largest meal of the day in the evening, several hours before you go to bed. Eating something (even something small, like an egg) to kickstart your metabolism in the morning is important. Then you can eat a normal lunch and a small dinner. That, plus not eating anything three hours before you go to sleep will spread out your eating and you might actually be hungry in the AM.

I'm sure this is true. Why not throw in a pound of bacon or two for good measure.

This seems like sound advice, although it is easier for me, schedule-wise, to do the large meal in the evening. Will try.

If you don't feel any necessity to change your meal regimen, don't change it to something that doesn't suit you..
Personally, I find the cold milk on a bowl of cereal when I first get up to be very refreshing. But you might not.

I didn't say there weren't any fillings in the omelet.

I started eating breakfast regularly about 5 years ago. It jump starts your metabolism. I dropped about 10 pounds the first year without changing anything else in life, plus I feel better throughout the day. I was one of those (like you) who skipped breakfast for years.
