that is exactly what I have always thought. Being raised in So. CA. and living both in NM and Texas I grew up on spicy as in chili foods. Also mom and dad used other spices as well. To us, just using salt and pepper was almost a sin. Most of my canning jars are filled with things that have some spice in them; my okra, salsas, pickles and tomato sauce. No, this doesn't mean so hot you can't taste the food nor when I use herbs or other spices like cumin or curry do I want it over powering. For those of us who love their spice: I think we need a big sign that reads; Spice is nice!!!!!!!!

Love, love, love spicy foods. I am particularly fond of spicy Indian foods. I have not heard anything about spicy foods being bad for health. I think just the opposite is true.
Spicy is good, as long as it isn't so hot it brings tears to your eyes and makes your nose run. When it's that hot, I'm not able to actually taste what I'm eating.
Just read on another thread that someone seems to think spicy foods are bad for us. I love my hot, spicy everything, Asian, Mexican, buffalo wings, Indian foods, you name it and have never thought, as long as you don't overdo it and don't have digestive problems they are bad for you. In fact I have read more than once various peppers are good for us because they add flavor, helping us to cut back on salt.
How do you feel? Do you enjoy spicy foods, do you eat them often and do you think they are bad or good for us?
I like hot and spicy foods and I think they're good for you as long as they aren't too salty, greasy, etc.

The older I get, the more oomph I want in my food. I find myself adding cayenne pepper or tabasco, etc, to foods that don't usually have those things. Thankful for Nexium.
I'm sure its not bad for you, probably good for you. I'm too much off a wuss though to eat spicy food - I have to make my salsa very mild.
