Nice big muskmelon, big, oval melons with deep ribbing on them. We used to call them Indiana melons; no idea if that's an actual melon variety or not, or if it's just a popular melon variety grown in Indiana.
Not really fond of either of them, and I'd never buy one for myself. But I'll eat it if it is served to me.
Well, check that. I always used to stop and buy a couple when passing through Green River, Utah, to just eat whole on the side of the road. Most things are pretty good if you can get them fresh-picked.
If I buy one at a supermarket, I have to let it sit out for a week or so to ripen, when it might at least be edible, but then I forget it and it goes bad.
