Well, there is a difference in taste. A decaf coffee and a coffee with reduced caffeine ( and you can customize it ) it's like fat free and reduced fat food.
Some people cannot drink coffee loaded with caffeine, and don't like the decaf stuff. For those this is a good option.

Default Food tip - cool your morning coffee instantly

Tired of morning coffee you want to drink on the run, but can't, because is liquid-magma-hot?
Freeze your favorite non-dairy creamer in ice cube tray and just pop one or two into your coffee. (or if you use the single serving creamers - freeze those)
This tip works only for people that like to add some cream to their coffee,
but...
if you enjoy your coffee black, you could always use an iced coffee cube to cool it down to a more drinkable temperature.
Iced coffee cubed coffee allows it to become cold without watering it down.

You need to make the initial batch of coffee/creamer ice cubes, so you would then have a convenient store of coffee/creamer ice cubes for each subsequent time you made hot coffee. This is until you run out of the coffee/creamer ice cubes, in which case, if you like this system, you can make more. yay!

And for the evening...
... add your frozen cubes of coffee to your glass of Bailey's. Yes! yes!
So stinkin' good!

BTW: a study finds that that drinking very hot coffee/tea (155F or more) can increase the risk of cancer of the esophagus, the muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach.
Hot Tea, Coffee May Increase Throat Cancer Risk
