I'm embarrassed to say I've never eaten asparagus! I'd like to try it but I wasn't sure of the tastiest way to cook it. I don't know whether I like it or not.

LOVE IT! Had a property at one time with a lot of fruit trees...and an old kitchen garden that I restarted - In the corner of the garden was this big huge bush - about 5 feet tall...I was told that it was asparagus;;; BUT it had to be trimmed to the ground..so I trimmed it down and low and behold - sprouts started popping up - enough that I could cut enough for supper three times a week - I never knew how asparagus grew - it is the baby plant - delecate and tastey....mmmmmmm...butter - a touch of salt - and so good for you.

Yeah, I never saw the plant growing until I bought some closeout roots from Lowe's a few years ago. I didn't know anything about growing asparagus, so it was educational. I couldn't decide where to plant them, and I never did pick a good spot. Most of them have died, now. I got a few stalks out of them.
