In our home, growing up, mom was a stay at home 50s mom so she did the cooking during the week, but dad, was the real cook in the family so he did almost all of it on weekends and when we had company. I learned my love of cooking from him. Since I was also a stay at home mom until our oldest left for college I did all the cooking. I still do, hubby sometimes helps clean up the kitchen, but he has all he can do to grill once in awhile.

I do all of the cooking and all of the cleaning up. My husband doesn't even enter the kitchen except to eat when I serve meals! (We have an eat in kitchen- if we had a separate dining area, he wouldn't enter the kitchen at all!).

Admittedly it is kind of frustrating sometimes, but in part it's due to the way he was raised. Like my Mother In Law says however, it's actually a good thing that I have complete 'control' over my kitchen (as she does in her house). I can put away everything and know it's going to stay there, and have full control over planning meals. In a way, it makes life easier

My husband does all of the gardening, car maintenance, and any repair jobs that need to be done around the house. In essence, we have very, very 'traditional' roles in our relationship- but it works for us. We pretend it's 1957 most of the time anyhow because we're just super dorks like that.

EDIT: We don't own a grill right now, but when we visit people with a grill or visit DH's family- my DH will grill- if I marinate and season first

I do the cooking and the cleaning up. DH does the grocery shopping, though. I really like to cook, and I don't mind cleaning up so much, but I HATE grocery shopping. He actually enjoys it!

I do almost all of the cooking, my wife does the cleaning. I tend to clean and wash dishes as I cook, tho.
