I don`t prefer "week" coffee.... They make it strong....Some of you just prefer strong coffee and you are so use to it being strong, that anything that is less than that strength is considered week to you.
Other than upscale coffee shops and European places, most places make it FAR too weak for me. That is why I don't eat breakfast out much. My favorite place is a French cafe that makes the best pastries, crepes and COFFEE - ooo-la-la!

You can make coffee weaker, but you can't really make it stronger... easily, anyway. As already stated: Just add some water or milk to your coffee ; ) That's what I do. Strong coffee with milk is delish. You can taste both components of coffee flavor & milky goodness at the same time.

Maybe you are confusing the dark roasted flavor for strength? I am probably the only person on the planet who can't stand Starbucks because I don't like the burned taste. I look for a medium or light roast coffee over a dark roast one, but this is different from liking weak coffee.
The above poster is right...darkness of roast doesn't really correlate to coffee strength, it just changes the flavor.
A good dark roast shouldn't ever taste burned...coffee generally only tastes burnt when it IS burnt. A dark roast should be just that...a dark roast. I generally prefer a medium roast most of the time, but occasionally will be in the mood for something more robust.
With the same bean mixture and amount of coffee used in brewing, darker roasting makes for stronger coffee. I join the ranks of those not fans of Starbucks but they do achieve a stronger flavor with darker roasting. And with a really light roast which most you you have never seen unless you make a mistake on your home roasted beans, you cannot get a strong cup no matter how much coffee you use.
I say if the beans lookas though they are wet with oil they are too dark and will not only make a strong cup but be bitter, burnt, or off flavored as well. Starbucks glisten but are not truly wet looking. Still I prefer a lighter roast than Starbucks.

It's a whole new world of coffee out there.

We have a Tassimo by Bosch. The machine steams the coffee and the milk. This coffee maker will brew cappuccino and latte. Very tasty.
