Default Best types of oranges

So I was really into my blood orange phase until I tried cara cara oranges. They have instantly skyrocketed to my most favorite type of orange. They're much less acidic and tart than a regular naval orange and are usually sweeter. The taste is also citrusy plus a hit of a berry or cherry flavor. I love Cara caras!

We have an orange that was discovered here in Jamaica called Ortanique...very sweet and seedy and sort of a combination between a Tangerine and Orange. It is my favourite...other than that I love a simple sweet Navel orange, I have an orange every day.

Cara Cara and blood oranges are the best IMHO. However Cara Cara are seasonal oranges, available only a short time in Winter.

Yes Cara Cara's are quite good.

However along those lines my favorite would be Minneola Tangelos which aren't really oranges.

I will take a good naval orange over any other kind. Of course I was raised in So Ca, almost in a complete Orange orchard. We also love tangelos. No, they are not oranges, but from a similar family.

I don't like navel oranges at all. My favorite "orange-type" citrus fruits are:

tangerine
tangelo
blood orange
valencia orange (my absolute favorite)

I squeeze all these in a manual plastic bowl-top juicer though, I don't really eat oranges much at all.

For segmented orangey citrus fruit, I prefer clementines.

I love me a good navel orange too As a child I use to tell my mom "I want the orange with all the little babies!" (referring to the small orange segments along the navel area) I love all citrus.

I guess we can see why food is so subjective; when someone says they can't stand Naval Oranges I wonder if they have really ever had one, but like I said, food is subjective.
