It has been a long time since I/we have had a Leg O'Lamb. However this year me thinks it is time
I found a super receipe on-line from Gourmet Mag about a
" Arugula-Stuffed Leg of Lamb with Roasted Spring Vegetables"

So, since we don't eat out very often and cutting back on a couple other things, so this Spring I am going to spring for the Leg O'Lamb

I know that they run about $40.00 or so, but we would get hmmm a least a couple meals + a sandwich...

So, what would be your choice?

Happy Easter to all.

HW

Thank goodness for a family that doesn't all like lamb. This makes our pocket book much happier. Yes, I love it, so does hubby and our son in law, but not the rest of the family. Growing up we always had leg of lamb and fresh aspargus for Easter dinner. Now it is ham.

When we still lived in NM we had a female priest (we are or were Epsicopalians then) she and her husband had lived in Ruidoso and had friends that raised lambs. We would get a lamb or 1/2 for almost nothing and loved every bite. You enjoy yours this year, I do like ham, so we will be just fine.

LOL we do not have Ham or Lamb on Easter, I don't like either one and neither did my brother or my uncle so My mom always made Chicken cordon Bleu. Since I host Easter now that's what we will have. My mom did make leg of lamb and ham other times of the year but not on Easter. Oh and she always made a Fresh ham not the spiral or ham in the can.
A ham that is not cooked or cured prior to preparation. When selecting a fresh ham, look for one that is encased in a layer of firm white fat, and contains meat that is well marbled with coloring that may range from a grayish-pink from younger hogs to a light rose color from older hogs. The meat can be stored in cold temperatures for up to 5 days.

My DH loves lamb. It's a good thing we went to NY to visit how family for Easter last year. He got his lamb

This year we will be home...and I have never seen a leg of lamb here. I will wait and see what kind of grocery sales come out tomorrow. It's supposed to be a nice weekend....maybe grilled steaks, baked potatoes, and salad

Gotta go with the ham, with sweet potatos, large green salad, green beans and biscuts with either apple or cherry pie and coffee.
