But I'm still not attracted to kidneys!!
I know it's sterile, but I would have a hard time getting past the urine smell.

Yes, this is definitely a natural aversion! I don't think I'll be trying them since there are so many other things to eat.

If you eat any number of pre-made sausages, you're eating kidneys etc. The entire idea of eating "variety meats" i.e. guts, is to not waste the life that the animal gave. To avoid that you eat the muscles and the organs, and use the skin for leather (or food- i.e. pork rinds)

When I worked in a butcher shop that sold fresh kidney my boss told me you had to boil the pee out of them. Think I'll let the cats have them and I'll eat tenderloin. Nothing wasted. K:

Especially if you skin and roast the cat.

Some people also eat organs because they believe it can cure their organs. Say if a man has a problem with his liver he eats liver. If a man has a problem with his kidneys he eats kidneys. I don't how efficient this approach is though.

I've had it. Definitely not one of my favorite organs. You have to get over the texture.

My family often uses kidney in cooking -- pan fry, grill, or sauté. I use it now and then for Hungarian kidney stew or steak and kidney stew.
