Now my husband likes both types of PB. I used to eat the natural as a kid but as I got older I did not care for it as much.
I hadn't ever heard of "natural" peanutbutter when I grew up. I thought peanutbutter was "naturally named Skippy." When they started advertising Jif I was like - wtf. There is only ONE peanutbutter, it's Skippy. And any other is going to be just some really horrible unnatural facsimile for poor people who can't afford Skippy. This was before the Great Generic Fiasco of the 1980's Generic brand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .
Then the Great Generic Fiasco occurred (otherwise known as The Recession of 1973-1975), and I learned that Jif was a valid (though obviously inferior) brand name of peanutbutter.
By the time I graduated from College in 1983, I lived through *another* recession, and discovered that there was such a thing as "whole foods" and that peanutbutter didn't spontaneously appear in jars at the supermarket. It was at that point that I also bumped into a "Cooperative" supermarket for the first time, and learned there, that it was possible to grind your own peanutbutter out of real actual peanuts.
I've been eating natural peanutbutter ever since. There is no comparison at all to Skippy. I can't even imagine how I was able to enjoy Skippy, now.
I have not. Think I'll opt for our deli fresh made peanut butter. It is nothing but ground peanuts and is kept in the fridge. No additives at all. It's made out where everyone/ anyone can see what goes in to it. Very excellent aroma and flavor too.

I go through a lot of unjunkified PB and what I do is I take an unopened jar when I'm ready to open it and vigorously shake it. That seems to help a little. But I will give your technique a try.
I was raised on and will still only eat Adams 100% Natural PB. It's still the best unadulaturated PB I can find for the price. Fresh ground is too expensive for a family that eats lots of PB. The others with added sugar are just nasty to me, as when you try and add honey or jam, it's inedible. I use a metal table knife to mix it, butter knives are too short for the 36oz jar.
I also like PB2. It's handy to keep it in my desk at work and eat it on bread, crackers or apples for a low fat protein snack.
