Pizza, had a great pizza parlor in our neighbor and one of the best things about the place was it had a juke box (lots of dancing) and cold beer (back then, an 18yr old could legally drink beer) and a lot of the kids that I went to school with (high school and college) hung out there.....great times and memories.
In and Out Burger was just starting and they still have the best Burgers & Fries on Earth.
They gave out bumper stickers that read "In & Out Burger" we would cut the B and the R off the word burger to have a bumper sticker that read "In & Out Urge." Once it got too popular they stopped making them. (The Bumper stickers, that is )

Our local diner. Either the California cheeseburger (mayo, lettuce and tomato elevated it from the NJ cheeseburger) or grilled swiss cheese and tomato.
A local diner. Started in the 40's by a family and is still going strong today. Their specialty is a pork tenderloin and homemade french fries and pies.

Iam going back to probably before most of you were born but here goes;
favorite hangout: Bobs
favorite food: Bob's big Boy; or tacos. Believe it or not, tacos came on to the sceen when I was about a senior in High School. Til then, there was very little Mexican food, even in Los Angeles. When I went to college in Cole there was no Mexican food.
Our small town hang out was the bowling alley (most often the parking lot). They made great pizza at a time when there were no pizza joints on every corner. Most often we drank soda, but occasionally someone older or with a fake id would buy beer.
Family-run diner in my small, rural hometown, run by an Albanian family...gave rural Midwesterners exposure to gyros and shawarma decades before middle eastern fare was readily available or trendy.
