Taco Time. Not a defunct chain, but they don't have a presense on the east coast. I'll take Taco Time over Taco Blah everytime.

A&W. Only place I knew up until Sonic came here that would do that old fashion order system and your food was brought out to you by teenage girls in short skirts and roller blades.

Biggest reason though? There King Fish platter, and I so miss there famous root beer in that frosty mug..oooh..

I worked at Hojo's as a teen. We would drop an entire basket of clam strips for the employees to snack on.

never was a Bennigan's fan except for their Monte Cristos. I csan only think of one chain I miss and they are not totally gone, just 90%: that would be the Old Bob's where we got our Bob's Big Boys. Oh and Shakey's Pizza, I assume they are gone, a long time ago.
