For me it is this very big WOK I have sitting up on top of my cupboard, I have not used that in probably close to 20 yrs. or more, I received it as a gift, I do not care for stir fry at all, so out of appreciation I used it at first a few times & that has been it. I use a colander as well for straining/draining liquids from pasta.
It was fun to read through this thread and see all the things that I use frequently, but other people find to be "useless". Right now, we are in an odd kitchen situation, so a lot of my gadgets are actually packed away, and I get exasperated doing without. However, my garlic press, lemon reamer, blender, immersion blender, food processor, KitchenAid mixer ...? Yeah, those are out and in frequent use. I need to get out my mandoline, though. So much easier slicing with it!
When we moved, we got rid of the silly useless things like the melon baller.
The electric tea-maker was a gift and we've never used it. I may recycle it next year as a white elephant gift for a Christmas party.
Others: Little empanada shapers; brown sugar softening disk (forget I have it); bread machine (haven't used it in years); sausage-maker kit; many cookie-cutters (neither of us bakes cookies); candy mold kit. . .
I cleaned out some kitchen drawers the other day and was surprised to find three melon ballers, three manual can openers, a manual egg beater, and probably 4 different types of thermometers. I could live with one melon baller, two manual can openers, and I could ditch the manual egg beater since I use whisks now. The one thing I really, really want but don't have is a thermapen.
I'm always wondering if anyone bought those "pasta strainer" pots off of the TV and how they work. I just use a colander. I've always used a colander.
I had one when it became popular. I liked it a lot and did use it. But it was poor quality and did not last long at all.
