I mean seriously, the way some people talk about it you would think that it would like Jesus himself came to Earth but when I actually tried after all my friends hyped it so much it was just kinda like "meh, I've had better". Anyone have similar experiences with Chick-fil-A?
I eat there twice a month on average. The food is always hot and the service is prompt and friendly. I just don't understand all the hoopla regarding the owner's comments over marriage. He is just expressing an opinion.
I would say it's no better or worse than any other fast food restaurant, quality and taste-wise, but years ago, living in a part of the country that had none (and still has very few), I remember friends from down south raving about it. I had high hopes when I finally did try it, but, eh, just fast food. It's as good as or better than some, and worse than some. For my money, I'll take the spicy chicken sandwich that Wendy's does, if I want fast food chicken. When KFC used to do the triple crunch zinger sandwich, that was heads and tails better than any Chick-Fil-A sandwich, too.
I think that it's smirk-worthy that there's this big OMG!!!!! CHICK-FIL-A is SO EVIL!!! backlash all of a sudden, when they've been pretty darned open about being run by a fundamentalist since, I don't know, forever? This is not news to anybody who's been paying attention. If people don't wanna patronize a place based on the owner's stance, that's totally their right...but don't act like this is some new and outraging thing.
For myself, politics aside, Wendy's has the better chicken sandwich, and I'd probably still eat it, even if Dave Thomas himself turned out to have spent all his downtime clubbing baby seals with a filthy, oil-spill-smeared mallet made of old growth rainforest wood and rhino-horn ivory. That's a good sandwich. Chick-Fil-A? Eh. The main reason to overlook them as a fast food option, for me, is because it's just not great (and not keeping regular hours by being open on Sundays annoys me, overall...both with them, and the similarly affiliated Hobby Lobby). Corporate-held social statements with which I disagree are just the icing on the cake.

I've never eaten anything from Chick-Fil-A.
Stupid name and the way it's spelled turns me away....besides, I have no reason to go there because the Colonel makes the best chicken. Real southern fried chicken. People that don't like the Colonel are likely to go to hell.
The Colonel is a true Great American Hero. I'd give my right leg for a bucket of his fried chicken, but it has to be the real bucket of chicken....not a box of it.
My wife loves this "Chick-Fil-A" place, but I've never taken her there.
Chick Fil A is my favorite fast food chicken. I love their spicy chicken sandwich. Regardless of what I may believe or not, I respect them for standing up for what they believe. Last time I checked we all had that right.
