I can't believe the employee of this Ft.Wayne Taco Bell wasn't fired for posting pictures of what appeared to be someone urinating on a plate of nachos.

The health department wouldn't confirm whether it was actual urine that was going into the nachos but passed the investigation on to the Ft. Wayne Police Department.

The employee stated it was just a prank, and that his manager was aware of it.

Read the statement from Taco Bell, and if you want, see the photo here (I didn't have a desire to look at it)

Employee suspended after "Urine in Nachos" prank

I looked at it and that is disgusting. I think they need to look into if the manager actually knew.... and if he did, they both should be fired.

As revolting as that is, unfortunately, it's very common. I've heard many stories of restaurant employees routinely urinating or spitting into food, taking food out of the garbage or dropping it on the floor and serving it up. Or, sometimes sprinkling it with dust, dirty water from a mop bucket, cat hairs or rodent feces.

A former college classmate told a story about how the boys he worked with at an upscale restaurant in the Hamptons had a regular competition of urinating into the soup from as far away as possible. The winner would be the one with the most accurate aim from the greatest distance. All of this was done in full view of the other employees, and it was considered a big joke.

Also, you get on the wrong side of a server, and there's no telling what they can do to your food.

As far as the Taco Bell story is concerned, I'm not surprised that he wasn't fired, since those types of pranks happen all the time. However, I can't believe that once the story made the news he wasn't sent packing immediately for the sake of good public relations.

I agree that these types of things have been going on probably as long as there have been restaurants. The difference now is that everyone has cell phone cameras, and many people have Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, and want their 15 minutes of fame.

exactly and remember everyone what can be done with utube and other medias. What you see and hear are always not what is real. I remember a few stories from about 50 years ago, that were similar and not true. These stories are popping up almost daily now....

The same thing could happen at a mom & pop restaurant.
