Okay, this question was inspired by a poll going on right now in the Texas forum. We were traveling through Mississippi last week and we stopped in Jackson to have lunch at a great restaurant that we've eaten at before. They had these peas on the buffet that looked like tiny little red/kidney beans with what looked like tiny little green beans mixed in with them. I didn't try them, but my husband and son did and they both liked them. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this before. Any idea what they might be?

No. I know what purple hull peas look like. The peas were a deep red color and looked like tiny kidney beans.

That's what I thought, but they were tiny, tiny little beans/peas. They looked like little, tiny red beans. When we asked the server bringing our drinks (no menus, only buffet, so no real knowledge required) she said they were some kind of peas, but she couldn't remember the name of them.
