Default Happy 100th Birthday Julia

Today would have been Julia Child's 100th birthday. Happy Birthday Julia!

She was a towering icon of the kitchen, her passion for food, cooking and for life was legendary.

PBS has a special website set up for her birthday with all sorts of interesting tributes to her and links to various videos.

Celebrate Julia Child's 100th Birthday

Dan Akroyd as Julia on SNL - Sen Al Franken who was a writer on SNL was under the table pumping "blood". Hysterical. SAVE THE LIVER.

She loved this sketch and showed it often to friends.

She was a red blooded American Female that loved men. If you know anything about her personally she loathed to be around clutches of women more than anything else. She was a sassy tart that loved masculinity of the hetero kind and made no bones about it.

My kind of lady.

She made our lives better. She did teach us how to master the art of French cooking just as her first book promised. She provided us with recipes that we could prepare easily and removed the fear that so many had felt before reading her. But even if someone read her and never prepared a single recipe of hers (foolish person) the tips alone would bring that person to a new level of the gastronomic art.

Have something of hers today to celebrate her birthday. If you have no time or money have some scrambled eggs the way she prepared them. I've appended a link to amazon to her first book. There's a massive excerpt that includes her scrambled eggs.

I believe that I have all of her books and available videos but I'll be checking the link which the OP has kindly provided us.

Vive Julia
