Ask your butcher. Many will get it in for you on special order. But there's much more market for young lamb in the US, and larger supermarkets typically have a few cuts in the case.

If you have a large Asian market check there, as they will often have products that cater not only to the usual Vietnamese/Chinese/Korean who run those places but also the local population African, Caribbean, Pakistani, etc. that buy more goat and lamb.

Locally the Asian market near is my source for any meat/fruit/veggies that is outside the norm.

I miss mutton! I haven't seen it since I was a kid, about 45+ years ago. We used to enjoy, "piano mutton". Beautiful, tasty ribs.....with terrific fat on them that was crisped under the broiler.
I'm of English blood and grew up with many great things on the table.

I don't live all the way over there, but I guess you guys have a market where you can buy mutton. Also, I think BBQ places would have them as a last resort.

BBQ places? Mutton? Really? That's a total new one on me. Definitely not a BBQ place in this part of the world.

I don't understand the remark? If you're saying there aren't BBQ places over there, there are. I searched Yelp and there are a ton of restaurants in Kentucky selling exclusively BBQ, plus meat markets and even normal markets. Some places do BBQ with mutton so it would make sense.

Yup, they all have it on the menu. Another Texas BBQ favorite, once you get away from the "Temples to Brisket" is Cabrito, which is young goat. It's a staple of a lot of ranch party BBQs, and community events in rural areas.
