We`re having a hot summer again here and i am wondering what people all over the world are eating if they have 95F and more....

I am eating a lot less than usually, drinking much and often having only a salad or a soup.

What about you?

Well(!)......we almost never hit 90....but I'm still drinking more than usual and I'm eating like a slop-hog! It's SO nice to see you, Melanie!

We have more salads in hot weather than in the winter.....but I'm not fond of soup in the summer....seems to be a "cold-weather" food, to me!

We do a lot of grilling out, with fresh corn on the cob, salads, fruits, etc....

Thank goodness for air-conditioning!

It seems we went out to eat just a bit more during the heat, using my oven was to much.

We fit that category and because of Air Conditioning our diet is pretty much the same year round. Though we try to use the oven less in the summer. Just bought another toaster oven which can help avoid using the oven.

Yes, we've been going out to eat more during the heat. When I do cook, I try to keep it simple and light and try to use the grill. However, once it gets over 100F it's just too hot to stand in front of a hot grill. If I cook at home I usually will do something like stir fry, salads, a quick pasta. Stuff that doesn't heat up the kitchen too much.

Same here. Egg salad, pasta, fruit, and fish has been my staple for the past week.

Bring on the HEAT! Soups, stews, and spicy curries. I've heard it's good to eat and drink hot things when it's hot out because it helps trigger your bodies natural cooling processes more effectively than just being in the hot weather does.

But the summer wouldn't be complete without a healthy serving of watermelon. I can't think of anything more refreshing than a cool, juicy chunk of watermelon.

The oven has not been turned on since April. Forget it. I don't seem to be as hungry this time of year, eating much lighter...not losing any wieght though! Pretty much just eating fruit, sandwiches...not too hungry.

Us too. I always cook differently in the summer than in the cooler weather. I NEVER use my oven in the summertime, always grill out, and have cold salads.
Summer= grilled meat, salad, crab/pasta salad, peas/cheese/ham salad, sweet corn, tomatoes, hamburgers, brats
Winter = chili, goulash, enchiladas, lasagna, spaghetti, chicken breasts, stew, roasts
