I'm from NC as well and grew up standing next to the vines on the trellis eating them!! Yum. Also would go raid the honeysuckle bush after that!

My great aunt (Warm Springs, Ga) had them on her farm. We would pick both muscadines and scuppernongs so my she and my great grandmother could make jelly and wine--good memories!

When we bought a house in NC, there was a trellis and mature vines in the yard just waiting for us. I had never heard of them before that. What a treat!
