The bf and I just did a taste test comparison on my home made mac and cheese (which I got from here) and some from a soul food place we go to down the street who has the best mac and cheese!
I cannot see a difference in the taste or texture at all. He says theirs seems like it may have more butter but he isn't sure. Neither of us could say that one was better than the other and that is so cool!
Next: My banana nut bread vs. Starbucks banana nut bread vs. Bob Evans banana nut bread!
Good news with the macaroni and cheese, it can be a tough one to make from scratch. I'm sure your banana bread will be much better than starbucks or bob evans. I'm curious about your recipe though, would you be willing to share? I seriously want to compare it with the recipe I use.

I'll let you know the results!
Do any of you all do taste test comparisons?>
I saved your banana nut bread recipe but haven't made it yet. But I know it is better than Starbucks! All their pastries are brought in frozen and defrosted before putting on display. (my best friend's daughter has been manager of several starbucks in the area)
This was in the mac and cheese thread. I copied and pasted it so I am not sure who originally posted, so you can go back there to find it.....
but here is the recipe:
Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese
1 8 oz box large macaroni
1 stick of butter
3 cups sharp (New York Sharp) cheddar cheese
1 12 oz can evaporated milk
1 ½ cups homogenized milk (whole is best)
2 eggs
salt
pepper
Grease crock pot or spray with Pam. Cook macaroni in salted water and drain. Pour into crock pot. While still hot, add butter and cheese and stir. Add homogenized milk and stir. Beat eggs and add evaporated milk to the eggs. Add this to macaroni mixture. Can sprinkle top with grated cheese.
Cook on low for three hours. DO NOT open lid during this time.
I have never had better homemade mac and cheese! I have been making homemade for years and I thought MY recipe was good, but I have really enjoyed this recipe and am not going back to my old stovetop way of making the cheese sauce and all of that. It is so easy to make!
Since its just the two of us we eat it for two days and there are no complaints from either one of us!
I love my crockpot too! He bouught me a nice one last season and it is coming up on crockpot season!!!! I saw a recipe for Brunswick Stew in the cp I am excited to make.
