I'm in Chicago. And I've eaten some of the Five Guys burgers. A new store is opening within eyeshot of where I live. I, too, find the offerings a tad overpriced for what you get. I'd take a Burger King Whopper over a Five Guys burger. We have many good burger places in the city so Five Guys would have had to really knock it out of the park to make a better impression than it has.

I think the burgers are good, but I don't care for the restaurants themselves. The decor is weird...white and red, with the decorations consisting of articles and reviews praising Five Guys. I'm already eating there; I don't need to read about how good it is from postings plastered all over the walls. Also, I wish they served beer, as I like to have a cold one with my burger every now and again.

After hearing all the hype i finally went to an outlet in Fla and came away wondering what all the fuss was about, the burger tasted like a generic burger with the ubiquitous mountain of french fries.
What did i miss? The ambiance was crappy, this particular place had very loud music and the burger-fries and small drink came to over $10 and they didnt get the toppings on my burger right.

Everyone is always raving about it. We ate there once (well, we carried out).

It was ok.

I wouldn't eat there. Had a fast food feel to it and I think that's gross. I won't eat AT fast food places.

I still haven't tried a 5 Guys burger. I think I must be the only one who hasn't had one!

I'm a big fan of burgers and fries. I had seen Five Guys stands in airports for a long time until they opened a restaurant where we used to live in CT. We went. Once.

The burger was OK. Just OK. I'm not snobby -- heck, I love fancy burgers AND Big Macs -- but the Five Guys burgers were just OK.

The fries -- and trust me, I love me some fries -- were icky. They had no flavor and they were on the soggy side. Maybe that's not the way they usually are, but that's the way I got 'em.

We have a Five Guys quite close to us here in MA but I have no desire to return.
