Oh, what memories this brings. My parents are from New Zealand. Marmite and Vegemite were always in the cupboard when I was a kid. My mum would crave a piece of toast with the nasty sludge spread over it and a cup of English breakfast tea.
Wow, in no way does this sound appetizing. I'm sure if you grew up eating it, it's good, but for those of us who have never experienced it, I can't think of anything that would make me want to try it.

LOL! It's great! My kids went to a camp where there were many councelors and campers from Australia, NZ, and the UK.
They brought back a bottle and it was good.
I like it on an English Muffin with butter and vegemite. marmite is good too. And good for you.
Also, my wife uses it as a soup base.
Not hard to get. Whole Foods and Wegman's have both.
I'm watching Andrew Zimmern Bizzarre foods and they are talking about vegemite in Australia, reminded me of this post.
Vegemite on toast with butter, thats how they eat it, but most non Australians do not like it.
Andrew said it tastes like spreadable beef bouillon. EWWW!!!
