Took some of the leftover ham from last night's dinner, and made bean and ham soup---> to eat tomorrow, and freeze (for later).

Can't have the meal above without some sort of cornbread. Hmmm...

We have folks in this household who like cornbread two different ways: sweet , unsweet.

So, as par usual, we shall cater to all and make both.

we are going to our daughters to watch election returns, even though we won't get much national returns cause we have to wait til the polls close in the west. I think she is serving chicken enchalladas; as she puts it, the All American dish;;;what a sense of humor she has...she didn't get that from her dad!!!

That thread on the Recipes forum got me in the mood to make meatloaf -- something that I've NEVER made before. So, I'm making meatloaf (with ground turkey, because my husband doesn't eat red meat), mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. It sounds like a meal from the 1950s, even though I was only born in 1965. I wish that I had an apron and that my name was June Cleaver.

Tonight it's baked chicken thighs that I froze from last week, and roasted carrots and onions.

Let us know how it turns out, June!

Last night was chinese take out - fried rice, potstickers, sweet and sour shrimp, kung pao shrimp, shrimp with vegetables (see a theme here?) and vegetable chow mein.

Tonight is homemade Cioppino with lobster, halibut, scallops, cod, clams, mussels and tiger shrimp served over linguini. I can't wait!
