Different people seem to eat an orange in different ways.

My mum/dad cuts them into slices and then peels off the skin and eats them.

Me, I also cut them into slices - eighths - but I don't bother peeling I just shove the orange slice in my mouth, make an 'orange smile' and eat it in one go. Who else does this?

Some people actually peel off the skin off the orange but I think that's too much effort!

Then there's the 'restaurant' style.

I found this:

3 Ways to Eat an Orange - wikiHow

Which of the following methods do you use?

OMG, I am sooooooooooo exhuasted! I just peeled an orange, so I need to go lie down now...

Are you kidding me? Even small children can peel an orange without fainting. I used to pack oranges in my daughter's school lunches, and I never once had to go pick her up from the nurse's office.

Besides, many of the places I most want to eat a nice juicy, thirst quenching orange I just don't have a knife handy.

And what is "restaurant style" anyway?

We peel the entire orange, cut in half and it half by half not in segments.

If I'm preparing it for later I peel it and section it.
If I'm eating it at home, I cut it into twelfths. (Half, then each half in thirds, then cut each piece in half the other way.) Then I eat it off the skin. If the orange is small I'll use sixths.

However I feel like eating it is how I eat it, in a restaurant oranges are generally sliced so eating it that way is different than completely peeling it which is good as well. I have a Tupperware orange peeler thingy so it is a breeze to peel, then depending on my mood I eat one slice at a time, break it in half and eat it like an apple sort of, or 3 slices at a time. There is no wrong way to eat an orange.

Remember the scene in Cold Comfort Farm, where the Heroine, following the 'quivering' at Church, goes into the village's little restaurant, and orders "an Orange, with Sugar on top"?

The Orange came, cut in half, with a little spoon. Now THAT is my idea of 'exhausting'. And I think the idea that an Orange could be improved with sugar hints at why the English have such extraordinary teeth.
