News, Pot pie maker halts production at key plant.
ConAgra Foods voluntarily shut down the plant where its Banquet pot pies are made after several state health departments linked it to salmonella.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. voluntarily stopped production Tuesday at the Missouri plant that makes its Banquet pot pies after health officials said the pies may be linked to 139 cases of salmonella in 30 states.

Swanson and Banquet both can keep their pies as far as I care ! I prefer Marie Callender's. Mo betta !

I thought this thread was going to be about another factory like the one that was shut down a few weeks ago that made "pot" brownies, "pot" cookies, and the like.

Really? I thought this was going to be a thread about an elaborate plan hatched by a daring rooster voiced by Mel Gibson that led to a massive, Steve McQueen-esque escape that deprived the pot pie factory owners of their key ingredient.
I saw a documentary about it.

There is a restaurant in San Diego (at least there used to be) called The San Diego chicken pie shop. They served a pot pie dinner with everything for just a few bucks. The food was starchy but tasty and the place was always full of real old folks.
