For the most part, my cookware tends to be better (or at least more suitable to my cooking style) than my moms. While I have some cast iron cookware, my mom mainly uses nonstick Teflon and stainless steel cladded based. She has a few cheap stainless steel knives. In fact, my mom is bascially scared of sharp knives and won't use my Global when she visits.

And I have probably out-spent my parents on the kitchen stuff I like as it is a hobby as well as a means to eat. Plus I think in my moms day, cooking was done more out of necessity, so she wasn't looking for quility stuff. But I will say that she does have a great stock pot and nice little spatula that I would love to have someday.

Are there any items you are coveting from your parents kitchen? Maybe a nice set of plates? Chef knives? An appliance?

I covet my father's cast iron chili pot ... but I am probably at least third in line.

You wouldn't believe how many pots I inherited already from my parents. German cook ware all the way back from the 1960's. They are in such good state and I am glad to have them.

I already inherited my great grandmother's cast iron pot with lid. As for my mom's cookware no thanks, it's wolfgang puck cookware that my dad bought her on HSN 12 years ago and I don't care for it at all. I will also be getting my grandmothers mixing bowl.

Had to buy my mother's RevereWare (1946-ish era) at the household auction when she went to the home.

My mom gave me her cast aluminum pots when she got new ones. They were one of her wedding gifts. The handles on a few of them broke, and I threw the pots away, but I still have the Dutch oven and 12" skillet, which are sturdier than anything I could buy new.

I am kinda coveting her Pyrex batter bowls, and the Py-O-My pie tins.

I certainly don't need any of her stuff; I have plenty of my own.
