It is a stew made of rabbit cooked in rabbit blood. My daughter was in a musical where htey mentioed it and I had no idea what it was. My brother mde fun of me for it, but then his wife who grew up in Germany had no idea what it was. I looked it up and told them it was not just rabit stew, but made with Bunny blood. She did nto believe me until her mother confirmed it. It has become a bit of a family joke and I have often commentend on that "disgusting and barbaric German practice" So they will undoubtely make some if it is nto too difficult or expensive. Where do you get rabbit blood? (No not "from a rabbit" No way is she going to kill a bunny, she gets upset when we kill bugs (insects, not bugs the bunny)).

Hasenpfeffer (also spelled hasenfeffer[citation needed]) is a traditional German stew made from marinated rabbit or hare, cut into stewing-meat sized pieces and braised with onions and wine in a marinade thickened with the animal's blood
