I don't think "everyone" should eat in a Michelin starred restaurant. A dining experience should make you happy, if yours is fine dining that's great, but for someone else it may be cold fried chicken, a burger cooked just right or fresh strawberries from the garden. A sublime dining experience is not defined by the cost of the meal, but by the memories created by that meal.
This! I personally love to eat "fine dining" but I refuse to pay over $200 for dinner. I happen to love my own cooking and think it's just as "fine" as the others (My own opinon). I detest paying a lot of money for just food, which to me is such a basic survival tool. I would much rather spend over $200 on something else that is tangible. Not something like food which I'll have nothing to show for but a big bill and extra pounds. Haha
I understand that people can love both, I didn't mean to come off as totally snobby. With that said, one thing that really bothers me is when a "cook" calls himself a "chef". I have shook hands with and spoken to some of the finest chefs in the world, and let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference.
Understood. I've eaten a few world class meals. Many places which advertise such an experience don't deliver.
I just re-read what I wrote and it sounds like I don't like food. I definitely do. I just don't want to pay $200.00 for it. Having said that, I have had some amazing fine dining.
I just find everyone should experience a three-star Michelin restaurant at least ONCE in their life.
I find everyone should credit their sources. A quick internet search turns up the entire contents of your initial post from as far back as 2004.
