Actually, it really depends on the dressings used. Some of them are horrendously bloated with fats, etc. looks like it's 470 calories (2d highest of salads) and 1240 mg of sodium (3rd highest).
It's got to be healthier than a deep fried pie and french fries with a soda.
Salads are not usually low calorie because of the oil and sugar in the salad dressing, but they do contain fresh veggies, vitamins, and fiber. Any method that gets fresh veggies into people can't be all bad. At home, the oil in the salad dressing is a healthy type, so that is another plus. I don't know what type of oil a fast food place uses in their dressing, nor what types of preservatives. But people do need some fat in their diet, so the oil in salad dressing is not bad as long as that is the major fat source for the day.

I frequently get the Baja Salad when I don't feel like cooking. I believe that Wendy's chili is quite low in fat vs. the protein content. I just watch the salad dressing (but not too much).
Sometimes, I get the Son of Baconator, which is super good, and I don't even feel that guilty about it. Once, I got the regular Baconator, but truthfully, I like the son of better.

So, healthy? Not really.
It is all relavent: certainly the salads, even with the heaveier dressings are healthier than most fast foods. I am not a lover of fast food and rarely indulge, but if I do, I find most of Wendy's salads to be a good choice.
I don't really care for fast food salads; they used to be quite tasty, but it seems the quality has fallen off considerably.
I think the trick is to avoid the add-ons like croutons and crunchy noodles, and to use about 1/3 to 1/2 of the dressing packet that comes with the salad.
It's healthier than a frosty, fries and burger which I would love to have right now but I won't.BTW Wedny's chili is 4 points on WW for a small cup.
