I love the smell of liver and onions. But absolutely detest the taste and refuse to eat it.

Cheese. Smells terrible. Tastes good.
Cabbage cooking - smells bad, tastes good.
Lots of vegetables smell bad cooking but taste good eatin'.

Almost every single microwave food smells WAY better than it tastes.
Salted dried fish smells fantastic - tastes like ass.

LOL Love the responses guys. Cabbage and some kinds of cheese. I would agree with that!

Cheese is the only one I can think of.

For the latter anything fried in oil/fat can't help but smell good, but it doesn't always taste good.

I have a pretty high tolerance of strongly scented food. I have yet to try Hákarl, so I'm interested in seeing just how bad this fermented shark dish is. The description of it as akin to very strong cheese slathered in ammonia is pretty amazing.

I don't like the smell of popcorn popping, but I like to eat it.

Since you've mentioned our fish sauce, I wonder have you tried durian? You'd never regret it
On topic, I love kimchi

Menudo. This is a Mexican soup consisting of beef tripe(stomach), hominy, and spices. It smells terrible when it is first being prepared. Luckily, my propane grille has a side burner, so I can prepare it outside. But once it is simmered and all the ingredients are mixed, it is hard to beat on a cold winter day. It is very popular here in south Texas.
