Are you making a joke or being serious? Bolognesse has nothing to do with Bologna (the meat). It is a style of sauce from the region of Bologna. Basically the common meat sauce you think of is a version of it. Traditionally it is made with a combination of veal, pork and beef.
Sorry, not trying to be funny..........it definitely sounds like you are describing a dish with baloney in it. Maybe I do not know about fru-fru foods.....but I know what I read!
Most Americans do tend to seriously oversauce their noodles, but that pic above seems a bit undersauced to me actually - though I appreciate the effort. Here is what I would consider a proper looking bolognese sauce.
And like I said, with mine I tend to simmer and cook it for anywhere from 6 hours and up. It can be done quicker, but it doesn't have time to develop the ideal depth of flavor if you cut it too short.
I also have to say; sauce. I make marinara or meat sauce w/ pork, veal & beef.
When the smell fills the house, it reminds me of walking into my grandma's apartment when I was little...
Also:
Pumpkin bread
Christmas cookies
Anything w/ garlic!
