I took my brother on a deer hunting trip. On the way we passed a ranch, I said some of those calves look pretty tasty.
David started sputtering about saying how in the world could I ever eat a cow. I told him he ate some cow just a hour ago from Wendy's. He said "I never did, I had a hamburger". Funny how many people do not know where their meat comes from.
How old is your Brother ?!?!?! I think too many people nowadays are not only unaware of their food source but more to the point unwillingtofind out.
Basically you get people who are squeamish afraid to stare the truth in the face but too selfish to sacrifice what they enjoy so much. Cue much hypocrisy when it comes to food.
I would have great difficulties being a vegetarian but as an avowed and unabashed omnivore I think the least I can do is accept that any meat/flesh = death. Anything else would be rather intellectually disingenuous.
I think if anyone over the age of about five did not know a hamburger was made of cow I would have some serious problems ever respecting anything they ever said and keeping a straight face. Incredulity and shock would be my reaction.

'Cuteness' is one of the more ridiculous reasons not to eat anything. Do animals that aren't cute feel less pain than those that are cute? God help us sometimes.

Same reason why people will treat a physically attractive person more kindly than a less attractive person.
I never had lamb until 2 weeks ago. The waitress said, "Wait, you've never had lamb before?"
"No, I haven't. I have, however, heard much about this dish. Might as well kill 2 birds with one stone."
"Huh?!"
Didn't like it. But not for those reasons. Lamb bears an odd taste to me.
I also read in a Yelp review one lady did not want to eat lamb simply because "it's a cute animal!"
I never saw the difference. But I don't think I would be a fan of guinea pig.
Lamb is a bit sharp tasting. That's why it's often served with mint jelly. I like lamb shank spit-roasted with garlic and shaved into thin strips, with tziziki and green peppers in a pita pocket.
I don't eat cows, pigs, deer, rabbit, turtle, etc. I eat mostly seafood sometimes chicken breast and turkey.
