I have found the occasional tiny "rock" ( more like large grit) in beans and lentils but nothing alarming though I am sure you could still chip a tooth on those.

I always check carefully because I don't want anyone to bite into a stone!
I have on occassion found a very small dry bean (pinto) and or a very small pebble.
Considering the amount of beans harvested and the procedures that they go thru to
clean them, I am not at all concerned as I do wash more than once and rinse in a collender.
Out here in the Southwest there are tons of beans cooked and consumed and no reports of
dental problems....the locals know how to prevent that.
This reminds me....The first time I made lentil soup, I had no idea what I was even supposed to be looking for when I "sorted" and "cleaned" the red lentils per the instructions on the bag - not exactly an easy task with red lentils. I just sifted through the red lentils as best I could looking for ?, rinsed them in a strainer and hoped for the best. All I knew at the time was that I didn't find anything noteworthy and the soup turned out well.
I've found one on occasion. I hate to throw wally world under the bus - but whenever I buy the great value dried beans, they seem the most suspect.
