Utz has great pretzels!
I have not tried the pretzels. Thanks for the tip!
Edit; I've never met a kettle chip I didn't like. If you've ever gotten the ones from the fair.. that were just pulled out from the oil as you made your order..... Oh my God. Yum.
Never tried Utz.
Lays were icky (according to my taste preferences, YMMV) unless they were Wavy Lays (i.e. like Ruffles)
Ruffles are sometimes burnt & brown, too-I end up buying store brand ripple chips, so that if I get a bad bag, at least I'm out less money.
Used to love Pringles (made from pressed processed potato matter, so they're "crisps" rather than proper "chips") many years back, but they taste too corn-like these days.
So I voted Ruffles, with the understanding that I purchase cheap versions of them instead.
Been loving Lay's brand since my childhood--I've stayed pretty much brand loyal, especially since Frito Lay introduced Kettle Chips. They are terrific!
Where I grew up there was brand called Noah's Potato Chips and they were sensational. The really strong potato taste, the salt, the crumbs...red, yellow and blue bag. Me and my brother were really into those! The whole potato chip experience.
Apparently not, given some of the responses on this thread.
Snyder's of Hanover aquired Utz, and then merged with Lance, which bought out many regional chip brands, itself. Snyder's-Lance is now one of the largest national snack food companies, as is Frito Lay. That being the case, Utz is indeed part of a major national conglomerate now, just as all brands associated with Lays are.
