Boy I haven't been able to get on all day. I am definitely having CD withdrawal.
Last night we went out to our local restaurant for dinner. It was absolutely horrible. I didn't eat. The GM who is a friend of ours was really upset. My h told him to get the kitchen staff in line especially in this economy or just close down.
Tonight I cooked we had grilled Omaha sirloin steaks, roasted potatoes with onion and garlic, steamed broccoli, and Italian Salad. It was delicious.
We go out as a social thing however, I am starting to think it is just a waste of time and money. Of course, they would not let us pay last night but, that is not the point, I still didn't eat, and I am the one that has to eat every couple of hours for health reasons. It just seems that no one wants to take pride in their work any longer.
We are going out for pizza for supper tongiht. Its unusual but I really dont feel like cooking....
as it turned out we didnt go out....I wasnt really very hungry for much more than the cherry at the bottom of a manhattan glass....and DP was happy with some rice, japanese pickled vegetables and deli roast beef.
I've never been one for gravey on fries. I'm happy with salt, pepper and either catsup or malt vinegar.
I like vinegar or mayonaise....but want to try the French Canadian style with brown gravy and fresh cheese curds. The only thing when those high calorie dishes were "invented" folks did hard manual labor in the cold for hours and hours and could burn all those calories off.

I noticed that with the way my grandparents cooked. They used a lot of fats and lard but my one grandfather was a railroader and the other was a coal miner and they were skinny (but healthy) as rails. If we used the same amount of fats and lard we would be in major trouble with blocked arteries and heart problems let alone carring around alot of excess weight.
But the "salt, pepper and either catsup or malt vinegar" doesn't get your cholesterol up to snuff
You're right but with the physicals I've had I might just as well not change my eating habits as long as they're in moderation.
