NMS, you nailed my husband to a T!! However, when it comes time to sit down to dinner - after he said "Auh, anything you feel like fixin'." - I usually get, "Didn't we just have this?" or "You know I don't like XYZ!!" or my personal favorite - "What IS it?"
Tonight I just got home at 6:15, but had to made a minute here for my food bud-dies. I am following Nomadicus' lead tonight and making pigs in the blanket with some cheese and crispy bacon pressed into the crescent dough. I picked up 4 ears of the last of white corn and they BETTER LIKE IT!!
I'll have some leftover chicken, myself with some steamed broccoli already waiting for me.
Enjoy your dinners, folks.

Reason: Thought Cyn had posted the hubby "duh" post. It was nomoresnow! Double duh!! :)
Tonight I'm making a modified version of Southdown's garlic panko chicken. I'm dipping the chicken in plain melted butter, then coating with panko that's been mixed with seasoned salt & cayenne pepper.
Hope it comes out as good as the original garlic panko chicken which was "YUM-O".
Sounds like ya got it about right for my taste buds there Charley. 3 Alarm chili weather is coming soon I hope.
No no no ... this was just so wrong. I love hot and spicy foods and in most cases, it's not hot enough. This was a disaster. I'm sure the "Daves Insanity Sauce" didn't help matters any.
Thinking about trying this new recipe as a base/sauce my grilled chicken:
1 (12 fluid ounce) can cola-flavored carbonated beverage
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a saucepan, combine the cola, tomato paste, onion, wine or vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Set aside 1/2 cup for basting; cover and refrigerate.
Carefully loosen the skin of the chicken; brush remaining sauce under skin. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starting the grill. Place chicken on grill rack. Grill, uncovered, over indirect medium heat for 20 minutes. Turn; grill 20-30 minutes longer or until chicken juices run clear, basting occasionally with reserved sauce.
Any thoughts...I've never tried the soda thing before. Only read about it on here...
Oh Charley sorry about dinner.
Cyn...you are doing just fine and don't let anyone tell you different.
I think you are onto something. The whadtya want and I dunno could be a soup with all of the stuff in the fridge and we can get Lacey to make the pasta in question marks for us.

I haven't either, but I'm sure it's great.
I've always wanted to try Nigella Lawson's ham cooked in coca cola (Dr. Pepper?) but the problem is there are only the two of us and I don't love to entertain.

Go ahead and make it After you have eaten simply put what's left on the back porch and either myself, captcaveman or the coyotes will handle the rest....no extra entertainment required
I did a pork shoulder in coke and it was delicious....and I made the bean soup that she recommends with the coke broth....delicious too.
