Just reminded me they made a pie crust on America's Test Kitchen Sat. that used vodka and they said that's the trick.

Happy Tuesday!
Am contemplating Mexican for this evening's meal. We are getting really cold weather here, just hopefully without precipitation. That brings the south to a screeching halt.

Did the vodka go in the crust or in the cooks ?

cyn- I have a Food Lion in our "small" town and they have nothing even remotely healthy or unique. If I hop the border and shop in NC I have Harris Teeter, Lowe's, FL, Ingles, and a natural market.

skbs- Maybe I can talk my hubby into a NY road trip for Wegamn's in the motorhome this summer. It's 40 feet long. I bet I could really fill that baby up.

elston- Your pie sounds delicious. I bet the house smells great. Enjoy it.

Jaxson-
YLisa you amaze me cooking 2 different meals nightly! Are you having trouble with your water or you have to clean the tank every so often?

Yup I make 6 different meals a day just for the two of us. It would be really nice if Mike ate what I ate.

We got a batch of muddy water from our well so we had to clean it out and re-fill with cleaner water. The tank is fine. It's the well I'm concerned about. I didn't have to get in. Mike got inside the tank.

dxi- Congrats on your test. I hope you did great.

Lacey- Yup. Sounds like tropical weather. Let's call Juan and order some fruity drinks with umbrellas. At any rate the liquor will keep us warm.

Vodka in pie crust. Now that's a new one to me. My mother used to make a Harvey Wallbanger cake back in the 70's that was really good

After exploring the freezer I found an easy way out with some chicken nuggets already to pop in the oven...I sure we have some hurricane supplies that need to be rotated so dinner will be easy tonight. Ice cream was discussed so just maybe I will get a treat tonight.

Lacey- lol about the flip flops, what's funny is seeing ppl here out to their mailboxes or even to Walmart in shorts and tank tops and it's only 20 degrees...but at Walmart at least they wear a coat...lol

Hmmm...an Apple crumb pie is really starting to sound good...

I started a Pot Roast EARLY this morning, haven't had it in awhile and smells delish! Mmmm, can't wait to dig in!

That is funny! My dear BIL who lives at 7,000 ft in the CA mountains often wears a down coat with shorts! Even when it's very cold up there if it's sunny the sun is so strong it feels warm and the air is so dry a person can easily get away with doing this but it still looks odd!
