One thing the diced ham?? Do I just have them cut me off a thick piece of ham at the store??
I actually buy the pre-diced ham in the package and add just a tad of hickory Liquid Smoke to the soup, gives it that great smoky flavor, sure hope you like it!...... I cook it til the beans are really tender, and then smoosh some of the beans to thicken the soup.
Hmmmm...... think I might have to make my own recipe tomorrow, imagine that.

Ah, I'm feeling quite accomplished. Amazing what weird ideas you come up with when you have a very limited supply of groceries... I invented a cheesy, garlicky, bacon-o-ey, rice mess! The chef boyfriend says, "It's like risotto, baby!" So I just take the "compliment" and feel good about myself. Yey!

Good morning all from what appears to be the Arctic. Currently 20 below, wind chill 34 below and snow due later. On the plus side we're to go to 7 above with wind chills of 20 below.

Everything you all had sounded perfect and Amber I have to try those chops-saved it.

Kshe-prayers for your friend's quality of life. She's an inspiration.

Thinking pizza for tonight-we'll see.
