I think I will try making some ribs the way Robert Irvine made them on an episode of his show. You put on a dry rub, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, and bake about 3 hours at 200. Apparently, plastic wrap is heat safe under 400 degrees.
He said they come out very tender and moist and I can finish them either on the grill or oven.
We'll have corn on the cob with it.
Mother Almrausch is not feeling well so I will cook tonight
I am making creamy broccoli soup from fresh ingredients. and for main meal and dessert I will make an apple casserole dish. The house will smell yummy after cinnamon. That's it.
I'm making tapas with a good red wine (brother-in-law and new girlfriend will come by for dinner and I am not in the mood for cooking anything time consuming after a long day at work). I will have: garlic shrimp,
cherry tomatoes stuffed with Spanish olive tapenade, grilled portobellos and baked mussels seasoned (with bread crumbs, butter and parmesan), vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce and cognac for dessert. It will all look good (and taste good as well I hope), but I won't have fussed.
Frozen pizzas, since Mrsrainroosty is coming home late today.
I will go to market tomorrow and make her a proper din-din!
Pizza for me too although not frozen! Tonight is my last in-person class of the summer so I am treating my students to pizza from a local place. (It's a small class so I can afford it, lol!)
And Rainroosty, I look forward to checking in tomorrow to see what you made for your wife!

Jaxson.....The plastic must not have been secure, because it did leak a little. I did 3 hours at 225, and they are super tender. They are unwrapped now and back in the same oven with Carolina BBQ sauce on them. I recommend the method.

Thanks for the review I'll have to give it a try. So essentially just make sure the plastic is good & tight?
I made a 2 qt. pot of goulash for supper trying to downsize from my usual 4qt. batch. Have enough for 2 or 3 meals that is about all I can take eating the same leftovers.
