I've been doing this for quite some time and it has made a huge difference in how long fruit lasts, especially strawberries and blue berries.

I would assume it prevents fruit flies since they comes when fruit is too ripe and moldy. I have to try this, it is very interesting. I assume you use white vinegar?

Yes I also throw in a touch of REGULAR dawn soap. Rinse well.

I find fruits and veggies last about 2/3 times as long.

We then quickly towel dry and set out on table under cieling fan for an hour or two to dry.

Since the kitchen sink is usually the most contaminated part of the kitchen, I use a separate dishwashing pan for the purpose.

Also, storing the fruits and veggies so they are dry and have good air flow around them are important.

As I said in the OP I've been doing this for some time and the results are terrific. I was afraid of a vinegar taste but it doesn't taste at all. Also good point about using a separate bowl or container rather than the kitchen sink.
Yes to white vinegar but since it's gonna be rinsed anyway I don't think it would be terrible to use apple cider vinegar or whatever you have. Plain white is cheap and used all around the house and laundry for so many other things.

Okay, I'm being picky here. The picture states "Cleaning fruit-Chemical-free." Typical vinegar is roughly 5% Acetic acid (Ethanoic acid) - and that's a chemical. So now you can rib me for being picky - I can take it .
