You walk into to a restaurant for carry out. You did not sit down to eat, you are not waited on. They hand you a bag of food that is it. When you sign the credit card receipt there is a place to tip. Do you tip? Who gets the tip?
I see two sides to it for sure. Sometimes it might not be a big deal. Like if I ordered $10 bucks worth of food, tipping $3-4 bucks might not be a big deal. What if I order $100 bucks of food. Should I tip $25 dollars?
And BTW, I always tip in this situation. I am just wondering if I am the only one haha.

I would have assumed that the kitchen staff packed the meal, rather than the waitstaff.
No tip is fine. Think McDonalds. Especially if the restaurant has a separate just for take out area. Also if you're feeling generous and they are a great business and employees by all means tip.
Tip for takeout?? I lived in the tipping capitol of the world (NYC) and I NEVER knew anyone who EVER tipped for takeout. That's just plain nuts in my book, but obviously some people actually do this. Go figure.
We don't do a lot of takeout, but I do tip the pizza guy and if the order is very large at our local Chinese takeout, then I tip. I don't feel obligated. A lot depends on my mood.
I ALWAYS tip. Most places pool tips and someone did pack that up that was in a tipped position. It isn't like people in food service are millionaires, they depend on tips and I am not going to be the person that doesn't feel it is necessary.

The big problem I see with your scenario is that you're kinda ruining things for the rest of us with your overtipping.
The accepted middle of the road tip for a server in a sit-down restaurant is 15%. For incompetant service 10% is an acceptable low end, while 20% is what you add for exceptional service. Ever notice what restaurants add as a service fee, in lieu of a tip, for large parties? 17%.
Unlike tipping a server, tipping at a takeout counter is a fairly recent thing, which didn't use to happen at all, and the accepted scale is 0 - 10%. Less if the counter person is just ringing up an order you previously called in, more if the counter person has really worked out to take a complicated order and make sure you have all the utensils and condiments, etc. It's also accepted that a takeout counter handles many times the number of orders that a table server does, so even 5% on their volume could gross more than 15% on the server's tickets does. And the person at the counter may not even be getting any of it...
So paying a 30% - 40% tip to pick up a $10 takeout order, or 25% for a $100 order, just skews expectations. And frankly, it's throwing your money around.
Yeah, I'll tip that much for a bicycle messenger or a driver, because it's a miserable gig and they work hard to earn it. But to pick up a takeout order? No way.
