dark chocolate, especially the kind with chili peppers in it, the brand I like best is called chocolove, the other brand is green & black organic called "maya Gold", with oranges & spices in it, YUM!! Also, garlic hummus, Sabra brand... with Santitas tortilla chips! Actually garlic anything!! Garlic has antibacterial & anti-inflamatory properties in it! Mostly, I get cravings at night. I also LOVE hard boiled eggs with salt, Helmann's mayo, and beefsteak tomatoes, with garlic. I'd kill to have "REAL" bread again. Can't b/c I'm gluten free & dairy free. M

I don't crave anything odd. Mostly just coffee. But sometimes cookies, peanuts, dried apples, dried mangoes, dried figs.

My ordinary cravings would be sweet or salty
Odd would be descriptive of the craving, not the food.

Cheesecake.

I don't know why but its creaminess and minimal sweetness always seem to be so appetizing.

Have you ever tried adding table salt to a big Dill??? Oh man, makes it so much better. You'd think it'd be too salty but not really.

Default Weird cravings

I have never like Tuna Noodle Casserole. I say never but haven't actually had any since I was a child.
But, all of a sudden, I have a craving for it and intend to make one.
I wonder if I'll still not like it??
I do remember this happening once when pregnant but figured that might be just some strange pregnancy occurrence.(Shrimp)
Any of you experienced this odd desire?

You might be in for a disappointment. That can of Cream of Mushroom soup that tuna casserole is made with has changed from a nice flavor to no flavor at all.

I don't know if it would be considered a weird craving, but my son has taken up making jerky as a hobby and I am like an addict. I can't stop thinking about eating some more jerky. That's what I had for breakfast today.

Sure. I recently went through two bags of pecans. Normally, I'm OK with them, but I couldn't get enough. After the two bags, my desire for them went back to normal.

Quite often, cravings like this are very clear messages from your gut that a certain nutrient is needed that is found in a particular food you have had. Humans have grown to ignore these messages except for the big loud three (salt, sugar, fat) but they are still there. Watch any animal that is given a choice of foods and chances are it will be quite selective. We are animals, our "second brain" in the gut is still there.
